Back in December, I was fortunate enough to travel to Cannes, France for my annual ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) meetings. What a great way to keep up relationships within the Luxury Travel world and to make new contacts and connections. Since I travelled so far, I always like to throw in a weekend somewhere else in Europe. This year, I was fortunate enough to visit Amsterdam, a city I have never visited before. I can tell you one thing, one weekend is not enough time to see this vibrant, beautiful city. Unfortunately, we had a very bad spell of weather, but that sure didn’t stop me from walking and exploring the city. We stayed at a fabulous Virtuoso property, The Pulitzer Amsterdam. It was located right on the canal, in the middle of the 9 Streets and is made up of 25 connecting Golden Age canal houses. It was only a 5 minute walk from the Anne Frank House; which was absolutely spectacular to visit and definitely one of my highlights.
The Pulitzer even offered a fabulous evening ‘city of lights’ canal tour on this gorgeous boat that was built in 1909 and Winston Churchill even toured the city on this exact boat in 1946. I would be very excited to go back to Amsterdam and be able to explore more of the city and surrounding areas. There were lots of pubs, cafes and of course the Red Light District that I explored. This is a very vibrant city and one that I would highly suggest visiting.
